A message from the Berkshire Association of Cricket Officials:
If you have an interest in learning what it takes to be a Cricket umpire, or you need to umpire for 10 overs in a match, or want to be a qualified Club Umpire for your league team to gain league points or even join a panel, then please come and join one of these courses.
Stage 1 is designed to give you an overview of the basic Laws of the game and how to apply them and introduce the principles of field craft and match management.
It will give you the tools to enable you to umpire recreational matches where there are no independent umpires appointed.
Stage 2 covering further Laws and exploring the concept of working as part of a team with a colleague and the scorers.
It is intended to introduce you to the skills and knowledge required to be a member of a league panel.
You need to complete a Stage 1 before going onto Stage 2.
